Brand abuse is a business model: and you're the product

The people abusing your trademark aren't doing it for fun. Lookalike domains harvest your customers' logins and payments. Rogue marketplace sellers ride your brand name to sell inferior goods, and the one-star reviews land on you. Ad hijackers bid on your own brand terms so that a customer who searched for you clicks through to them. You built the demand, they intercept the sale. Each individual abuse looks small. Together they bleed revenue, poison customer trust, and hand your hard-won brand equity to strangers.

The cruel part is that most businesses only discover trademark abuse when a customer complains, after the fake site has been live for months, after the hijacked ads have been converting for a quarter. By then the damage is compounding and the infringer has already moved profits somewhere hard to reach. The gap between when abuse starts and when you notice it is exactly where the losses live. Closing that gap is what monitoring is for.

Detection at scale, verified by humans, enforced by specialists

Our detection systems watch the surfaces where trademark abuse actually appears: new domain registrations resembling your mark, marketplace listings using your brand name, paid ads triggering on your branded terms, and social accounts adopting your name and logo. Every hit is reviewed by a human analyst before you ever see it: a reseller you authorised, a fan account, and a criminal clone look similar to software but need completely different responses. You get a clean feed of verified threats, not a spreadsheet of maybes.

Then we enforce. Our specialists file trademark complaints through marketplace brand registries, ad platform trademark channels, and social impersonation processes, each of which has its own evidence requirements and its own quirks, which is why generic reports so often go nowhere. For rogue domains, we escalate to registrars and hosting providers, and where a site takes payments under your mark, to the payment processors that keep it profitable. We can't dictate any platform's decision, but well-built filings on the right channel succeed far more often than the report button ever will.

Not every hit deserves the same response, so we sequence enforcement by damage: the phishing clone taking payments today outranks the dormant typo-domain parked on ads, and the marketplace seller moving real volume outranks the account with no sales. You approve the priorities once; after that, filings move without waiting on you, and the monthly report shows exactly where each target stands: filed, escalated, or down.

Why trademark protection has to be continuous

Take down one lookalike domain and the operator registers three more the same week, domains cost pennies and your brand equity is free to steal. That's why we run trademark protection as an ongoing program under our Protection Plans: the monitoring keeps sweeping, verified threats get filed against fast, and repeat offenders get escalated up the infrastructure chain until abuse stops being worth their time. You see everything in a monthly report: what appeared, what we filed, what came down.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a registered trademark to use this service? +
Registration opens the strongest doors: marketplace brand registries and ad platform trademark complaints usually require it. But unregistered marks still have routes: impersonation policies, unfair competition grounds and copyright in your logo and content. On your Exposure Scan call we'll tell you honestly which levers your current rights support, and whether registration should be a priority.
Can you stop competitors bidding on my brand name in ads? +
It depends on how they use it. Merely bidding on your term is allowed on most ad platforms, but using your trademark in their ad copy or passing themselves off as you generally is not, and those cases we file against with good success. We'll show you which of your hijackers cross the line.
What happens when a lookalike domain owner ignores complaints? +
We move up the chain: hosting provider, registrar, and where the site takes money, its payment processors. Domain owners can ignore an email; they can't ignore losing their hosting or their checkout. No outcome is guaranteed with any third party, but persistent, well-evidenced escalation resolves most cases.
