Counterfeiting hit Saski Collection the way it hits every fast-growing consumer brand: unauthorized websites selling fakes, stolen product imagery feeding fraudulent advertising, and impersonated social media accounts lending the whole operation credibility. Beyond the lost revenue, the brand was absorbing the customer-service fallout from fraudulent orders it had never taken.
We built a customized action plan and worked the ecosystem as a network rather than one listing at a time: removing the fraudulent storefront websites, eliminating stolen imagery and content across the sites republishing it, and taking down the fake news placements, fraudulent ads and impersonator accounts that funneled buyers to the counterfeits.
The counterfeit operation was dismantled, and the revenue that had been leaking to fraudulent sellers came back to the brand — in the client's words, the monetary value recovered was invaluable. Ongoing monitoring now catches new counterfeit activity at appearance.
